Russ Murphy - Builder

Highlights of Russ Murphy's Career

1971 - Became Station Manger of CHCM

1976 - First experience at broadcasting

1980's - CHCM began broadcasting Challenge Cup at National Men's Competition

1990's - CHCM began broadcasting both Challenge Cup and Jubilee Trophy

1990's - 2008 - Russ Murphyhas a record number of 15 years of calling National Soccer Games

2002 & 2007 - Calling the silver medal and bronze medal games for the NL entry

Gord Dunphy Player/Builder

Highlights of Gord Dunphy's Career

Club: St. Lawrence Laurentians

He played at minor,high school, intermediate, Chllenge Cup and Masters Divisions

As a player he was a member of teams which capatured 9 Provincial Championships.

When Gord player for the senior Laurentians in the 70's the Laurentians won "Team of the Decade"

Spent 16 years at the Coaching Level

He has won 13 Provincial Championships as a coach

1998 - He was named "Challenge Cup All-Star Coach"

1999 - Coached the Laurentians to a National Bronze Medal

1999 - Won the NLSA "Coach of the year Award"

1999 - Sport NL Runner Up - "Coach of the Year Award"

2000 - Started writing a soccer article called - Coach's Corner

2001 - Inducted the St.Lawrence Hall of Fame

2003 - Started doing color with CHCM at Provincial and National competition

2008 - After completing a Multi -Media course Gord created "The Blog"

2008 - Appointed by the NLSA as a member to the NLSA Hall of Fame Selection Committee

1987 - Member of the Provincial Challenge Cup Winners

1998 Member of the Lawn Shamrocks that won the All - NL Senior "A"

1999 - 2004 Member of Lawn Shamrocks that won 5 Provincial Master Championships

2001 - Won MVP of Lawn Masters

Highlights of Eugene Brushett's Career

Club: Marystown United

Started playing in the Marystown minor system in the late 1960's

1972- Became a meber of the Marystown United Third Division Team

1973 - 1988 - Member of the Marystown United First Division Team

1989 - 99 - Member of Marystown Masters

1978 - 1980 - 1982 - 1984 : Selected as Marystown's Most Dedicated and Effective Player

1980's : Selected as Marystown's Player of the Decade

2oo8 : Played with Marystown Masters
