Canada games vs St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence 5 vs NL Canada Games 2

Veteran, Paul Slaney paces the Laurentians to victory

The St.Lawrence Laurentians, who played their third game since the beginning of Home Comming 2009 began on August 1st, defeated the NL Canada Ganmes by a convincing 5-2 win. The victory was sparked by a two goal effort from Paul Slaney. Slaney now leads the league in the goal scoring department with 8 goals. The other Laurentian goals were scored by Andrew Perrott, Ryan Slaney and Earl Turpin. Scotty Woodfine and Albert Anstey Jr scored the Games Team. The Laurentians now trail Holy Cross by just three points ( 29-26) with two games in hand. St. Lawrence will again take to the field this week-end when they play host to Mount Pearl on Saturday and Sunday. From all reports that I'm getting, at the matches and at the Trophy Lounge, the fans are just loving the soccer games during the festivities .
