Jamie Howlett referee's Saskatchewan's Senior Men's Final

Jamie Howlett - Senior referee

Saskatchewan's Middle Man - Jamie Howlett

Former St. Lawrence native and star soccer player Jamie Howlett, who now resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was the man of the hour as he refereed the Senior Men's Championship game played in Saskatoon on Saturday July 17, 2010. Last years champions, Saskatoon Huskie Alumni won the SK championship by a 4-1 score.
Howlett's development
As long as I can remember Jamie Howlett has been involved with the sport of soccer. He was an all-star player all during his whole career while playing minor and senior soccer. When he first moved to Alberta in the 1990's he still continued playing but his primary focus became refereeing. Jamie, who since has moved from Alberta and is now a resident of Saskatchewan has obviously completed his refereeing apprenticeship by being named the senior referee in Saskatchewan's men's final.
A couple of years ago when Jamie returned home, he did some refereeing here in our Challenge Cup League and you could see the potential. He knows how to react to players in a given situation and of course he knows the technical side of the game very well.
Last year when Holy Cross played at the Nationals in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan both Jamie and his brother Mike volunteered at this tournament. You could see that both of them wore their heart on their sleeves as they assisted myself, Judi Kelloway and both Newfoundland Teams far beyond the call of duty.

Congratulations Jamie on your achievement from all of
the soccer circle here in Newfoundland !
