Mount Pearl getstheir first win of the season.

L-R : Justin Pickford, Kevin Oram, Brandon Noseworthy, Chad Seymore

Mount Pearl : 3 vs Feildians : 0
After a rather sluggish start to the 2015 Challenge season, Mount Pearl seems to be putting it together rather nicely. Mount Pearl, who opened up the season by being shut-out by the St. Lawrence Laurentians 1-0  and then losing their next game to Holy Cross 4-0  have now captured four of their last six points with a tie and a win.
On Wednesday  night at Smallwood Pitch, Mount Pearl took it to the Feildians and outplayed the Double-blue through out game. Mount Pearl who had missed a few glorious scoring opportunities early in the game scored the only goal of the first half at the 30 minute mark. Kevin Oram, who was playing in the mid-field position, struck from 25 yards when the ball hit the lower part of cross-bar it deflected down and went just a couple of feet inside the goal line beating the Feildians goalkeeper, David Hickey.
The play in the second half was fairly more even, territorially wise, but it was the offense of Mount Pearl that kept getting the better scoring opportunities. Justin Pickford, at the 70 minute mark, was awarded for his efforts as he finally put the ball in the corner of the goal to the left of Hickey after having a couple of great chances. Then, Chad Seymore, who had played a strong game for Mount Pearl, got the final goal of the game at the 86 minute mark as he physically beat a couple of Feildians defenders to the ball before he scored.  Brandon Noseworthy, was solid when called upon for the Mount Pearl team as he recorded his first shut-out of the season.
